Welcome to Rock of Wisdom UK<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rock of Wisdom UK is a charity set up to support the Rock of Wisdom School, which is a Christian education project in rural Melfort, Harare, Zimbabwe. The people here live in extreme poverty. The nearest government school is 10 kilometres away from the community. The children whose parents could afford the school fees had to walk the 10 kilometres each way every day, some barefoot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The vision for Rock of Wisdom School was given by God to Pastor Junior Gwenhe, to build a Christian school. 147 hectares of land was granted to her by the Government of Zimbabwe. Pastor Junior set up a Trust called Rock of Ages Revival Ministries Trust, which was originally registered in 2010. We met Pastor Junior in February 2025 whilst on a mission trip with second year students from Charis Bible College, Yorkshire. Since then, through partnering with her, several buildings have been constructed, and the school opened in September 2025 with four classrooms and 75 children. As at the start of 2026 the school is thriving with 130 pupils, 24 of whom are boarders. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rock of Wisdom School is a primary and secondary school for five to sixteen year olds. The school aims to provide an excellent quality of Christian education, and to be a catalyst for training the children and their families on how to become self-sufficient. They will be taught a variety of life skills, like: sewing, cooking, farming, animal husbandry, brickmaking and welding, so that when they leave school they will be equipped to know how to become small business owners, or to pursue whatever careers they choose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rock of Wisdom School is unique because:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

+ Within three years it aims to be self-sustaining through their agricultural projects. Parts of the land are already being cultivated to grow crops such as maize, vegetables, and fruit trees. Also pigs and chickens are being reared, and in the future cows, sheep and goats will be added. These projects will help feed and teach practical life skills to the children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

+ The school includes dormitories to accommodate children whose home living conditions were exceptionally poor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

+ The school has provided employment for several local people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
